Porcelain Veneers in Dickson, TN

veneers1-300x201 Porcelain Veneers dentist DicksonWhen it comes to your teeth, even the smallest chip, stain or crack can prevent you from looking and feeling your best. If you find yourself withholding your smile from the rest of the world, let Dr. Dave’s Healthy Smiles help you with porcelain veneers. Designed to slip over the front of teeth, porcelain veneers can cover up an array of dental imperfections. Thanks to their natural and discreet design, veneers blend in with the surrounding teeth, giving you a seamless smile you can be proud to show off!

Can I Benefit From Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are one of the most versatile cosmetic dental treatments Dr. Dave offers at his Dickson, TN office. You may be a good candidate for veneers if you are embarrassed or self-conscious about any of the following:

  • Small chips or cracks
  • Discolored or stained teeth
  • Small spaces or gaps between the teeth
  • Worn tooth enamel
  • Unusually shaped or sized teeth
  • Mildly crooked or uneven teeth

Millions of people have chosen porcelain veneers to enhance their smiles for several reasons. Made of high-quality porcelain, veneers match the color and translucent quality of natural tooth enamel, making them virtually indistinguishable from the surrounding teeth. Not only do veneers enhance the shape and color of an individual tooth, they enhance the uniformity of the overall teeth. With veneers, your smile will look brighter, straighter and even healthier.

Creating & Placing Your Veneers

The veneer placement process typically takes two dental appointments. To give you a good idea of what results to expect with veneers, Dr. Dave may create a wax-based model of your teeth. Or, he may place a removable tooth-colored filling material directly over your teeth to demonstrate how your teeth will look with veneers. This gives you, the patient, the opportunity to provide input on how you want your final results to look.

Once you and Dr. Dave have agreed on the number, location and look of the veneers, the dentist will prepare your teeth. This involves removing a small amount of enamel from the surface of the tooth or teeth that will be treated. He will also create an impression of the teeth, which will be sent to the laboratory where your veneers will be created. It takes about two weeks for veneers to be created. Dr. Dave may place temporary veneers over your teeth to protect them in the meantime.

During your second appointment, Dr. Dave will remove the temporary veneers and replace them with your permanent ones. Once you and the dentist are happy with the look and fit of the veneers, Dr. Dave will bond them in place, polishing them for a radiant appearance.

Caring For Your Veneers

veneers2-300x199 Porcelain Veneers dentist DicksonWith proper care and good oral hygiene, your veneers can last many years. Brush your teeth using a non-abrasive toothpaste two times a day and floss between teeth daily. Avoid chewing on foods and objects (e.g., ice, bottle caps, pens) that can potentially crack your veneers. Finally, keeping up with your six-month dental checkups with our team ensures your veneers and teeth are in good health and condition at all times.

At Dr. Dave’s Healthy Smiles, we understand that a beautiful and self-assured smile is a powerful asset. To learn more about porcelain veneers and how they can transform your teeth and confidence, please schedule a personal consultation.
